Effective date: 2026-10-17 App: Daily Dues (com.sonith.dailydues), version 0.1.0 Developer: Sonith Contact: sonythm@gmail.com Policy address: https://sonythm.github.io/sonith-apps/daily-dues/
Short version
Everything stays on your phone. The developer does not receive any of it. The Android build blocks the internet permission, so the app makes no network calls at all. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting.
What the app stores on your device
- Services you add: name, icon, colour, unit, usual quantity, schedule, start and stop dates, price history, notes and reminder choices.
- Vendor details you type: the vendor's name and, optionally, their phone number. These are names and numbers of other people. They are stored only on your phone, in the app's local database.
- Daily marks: for each service and day, delivered, extra, skipped or not delivered, the quantity and any note you type.
- Holiday ranges (leave).
- Payments you record: date, amount, mode (cash, UPI, bank, other) and note. The app records only what you type. It does not connect to UPI, banks or any payment service.
- Settings: reminder times, quiet hours and options.
This data is kept in a local database on your phone and is not uploaded anywhere. Android backup for the app is switched off, so Google backup does not copy it either.
What the app does not do
- It does not use the internet. The INTERNET permission is blocked in the app.
- It does not use your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or SMS.
- It does not use advertising IDs, analytics, tracking or crash reporting libraries.
- It does not have accounts or sign in.
Calls and WhatsApp
If you add a vendor's phone number, a Call button and a WhatsApp button appear. Tapping Call opens your Phone app with that number ready (a tel: link). Tapping WhatsApp, or "Send to vendor on WhatsApp", opens WhatsApp (an https://wa.me/ link) with a message ready to send. These open another app only when you tap. Nothing is sent from Daily Dues itself. What happens next is governed by the Phone app, WhatsApp and their policies, not this one. The same applies to the Share buttons, which hand text, a picture or a backup file to the app you choose in the Android share sheet.
Notifications
Daily Dues can show notifications you choose: an evening reminder to mark today's deliveries, a month-end reminder to pay, and an occasional reminder to check a price. Android 13 and later ask for permission. Reminder text can include service names (for example "Milk") and, on the day, an amount owed. They are created on your phone and shown on your lock screen according to your phone's settings. You can refuse the permission; the rest of the app works. They are cancelled when you switch reminders off, delete a service, or delete all data.
Backup file
Backup and restore creates a plain text (JSON) file that contains your services, vendor names and numbers, marks and payments. It is made only when you tap, and you decide where it goes. Anyone who has the file can read it, so keep it somewhere you trust.
Deleting your data
- Delete a single service (with its days and payments) from its edit screen.
- Settings, Delete all data removes everything from the phone and cancels all reminders.
- Uninstalling the app removes its data.
Children
The app is meant for adults who manage household payments. It is not directed at children and collects no data about anyone.
Sharing and sale of data
None. The developer receives no data, so there is nothing to share or sell.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes and the new text is published at the policy address.
