Why these apps

  • Offline-firstEverything works without a connection. Your records live in storage on your phone.
  • No adsNo ad networks and no ad SDKs, including in the kids’ apps.
  • No trackingNo analytics, no crash-reporting services, no profiles.
  • No accountOpen the app and use it. There is nothing to sign up for.
  • FreeNo subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

An honest note: “offline” does not mean zero internet for every app. These are the exceptions, and each app’s privacy policy has the detail.

  • Share to GitHub Issue and Repo Widget talk to GitHub (api.github.com) using your own GitHub token, because that is what they are for. Nothing is sent to me.
  • Voice Memo and Voice Khata download a speech-recognition model once, from Hugging Face, when you choose to. Hugging Face can see your IP address for that download. Your recordings and text never leave the phone.
  • Card to Follow-up reads cards on the phone, but Google Play services may download its text-recognition model the first time you scan. WhatsApp opens in WhatsApp, only when you tap.
  • MySpend’s own code makes no network requests. Its Settings has one link that opens its privacy policy in your browser when you tap it.
  • Apps that read text from photos use Google ML Kit on the phone. Anything you export or share goes only where you send it from the share sheet.
  • The other apps do not go online at all.

Install without Google Play

You can download the apps as APK files with checksums from the downloads page; these are test builds, so Android or Play Protect may warn that they come from outside a store.

Help us test

Google Play asks new developers to test each app with real people for 14 days before release. If you have an Android phone and a few minutes, the Play apps page lists every app with its test link, the tester page explains how to join, or you can join the Google Group directly.
