Effective date: 2026-10-18 App: Kid Health Book (com.sonith.kidhealthbook), version 0.1.0 Developer: Sonith Contact: sonythm@gmail.com URL: https://sonythm.github.io/sonith-apps/kid-health-book/
Short version
Everything you enter stays on your phone. The developer receives none of it. The Android build blocks the internet permission, so the app makes no network calls. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. The app does not use the camera, microphone, photos, location or contacts.
Who the app is for
Kid Health Book is for parents and guardians (adults, 18 and over) to keep their own children's health records. It is not directed at children, and children are not expected to use it.
What the app stores on your device
For each child you add:
- Profile: name, date of birth, sex, a tile colour, and optionally blood group, allergies, the paediatrician's name and phone number, and notes. No photo is stored; the app shows coloured initials.
- Vaccinations: which doses were given or skipped, the date given, place, batch number, notes, any due date you changed, and vaccines you added.
- Growth: dates with height or length, weight and head circumference, and notes.
- Doctor visits: date, reason, doctor, diagnosis as you typed it, prescription notes, other notes and follow-up date.
- Medicines: name, dose, how often, how many days, start date and time, notes, and which doses you marked taken or skipped.
- Milestones: title, date and note.
- Settings: reminder choices and times, and whether you read the "reference only" note.
This is health information about your child. It is kept in a local database (SQLite) in the app's private storage. Files you export (PDF, backup JSON) are written to the app's storage before the share sheet opens. The app adds no encryption of its own beyond your phone's storage protection, so keep your phone locked.
Data types, in plain terms

Network calls
None. The internet permission is blocked in the app. There is no account system, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or third-party SDK that sends data. The font is bundled inside the app. The privacy policy address is shown as text only; the app does not open it.
Permissions
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): only if you turn on reminders. Reminders are scheduled on the phone, with no push server.
- Run at start-up, vibrate, wake lock: added by the notifications library so reminders survive a restart.
- Blocked: internet, camera, microphone, storage and media access, location, drawing over other apps and push messaging.
- For backup import, the app uses the Android system file picker, so it needs no storage permission.
Notifications
Reminder text includes your child's first name and the vaccine, medicine or follow-up, for example "Riya: vaccines due today" or "Riya: Paracetamol syrup, 5 ml at 8:00 pm". This can appear on your lock screen. You can turn reminders off in the app, switch off each type, or hide notification content on the lock screen in Android settings.
Sharing
A vaccination record (text or PDF) and the backup file leave the phone only when you tap share and choose an app. They contain your child's health information. Once shared, the receiving app's privacy policy applies. The developer never receives them.
Backups
Android's automatic backup is switched off for this app (allowBackup is false), so the records are not copied to Google's cloud. To move to a new phone, use Settings, Export backup, and restore the file on the new phone. Keep the backup file private: it holds your children's health records.
How to delete your data
- In the app: delete single records, delete a child (this removes every record for that child), or Settings, Delete all data. Deleting all data also cancels all reminders.
- Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android settings, removes everything, including exported files kept in app storage.
- Copies you shared to other apps must be deleted there.
The developer holds no copy, so there is nothing to request from the developer.
Not medical advice
Kid Health Book is a record book. It does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, does not suggest doses and does not assess growth. The vaccination schedule is for reference; always follow your paediatrician.
Children's privacy
The app is for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it sends no information about anyone to the developer or third parties.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at the same address with a new effective date.
